I’m On GitHub Now

I recently started being a bit more “social” about my coding. I've come to enjoy keeping online repositories of some of my code on github.com and enjoy the sharing of code in this manor. I recently updated my PHP form script and now host the repository with GitHub for anyone who is interested in contributing/tweaking it. I have only been using version control for a little while so I thought I'd share some resources that helped me get started.

First off, I haven't really spent much time with SVN. I tried it out a while back without fully understanding the concepts behind each function. I knew I needed to be more intentional about the way I managed my own single-person projects but I didn't really know where to start. I had done very few team coding projects before so it didn't really matter to me. When it came time for me to really lock down and learn some version control I just happened to be in a community full of Git users. Thanks to some ExpressionEngine friends I was introduced to some good Git resources. Here are a few of them:

These are just a few of the great Git resources out there. They are very introductory and should be a great starting point if you are interested in learning what Git is about. I will talk more about some of my repositories as I have time to write a little more. Until then feel free to check out what I have up there and fork away!
